Woods retained to represent holders of asset-backed commercial paper

In one of the most important financial matters in Canadian history, numerous holders of asset-backed commercial paper (“ABCP”) have retained Woods LLP to evaluate their positions.  Many holders of ABCP issued in Canada have seen their investments frozen following the recent liquidity problems in the markets for such investments.  The total face value of all ABCP issued in Canada is in excess of one hundred billion dollars ($100,000,000,000).
