Woods represents the Purchaser of BCE Inc. in arrangement proceedings

Woods LLP acted as counsel for the Purchaser of BCE Inc. in the arrangement proceedings in which BCE Inc. and the Purchaser sought approval of one of the largest privatization transactions in history.  The proceedings were contested by certain bondholders of Bell Canada, whose claims were dismissed by the Superior Court of Quebec after more than thirty days of proof and hearing, making this one of the largest and most complicate “real-time” litigations to occur in Canada.  On June 20, 2008, the Supreme Court of Canada unanimously confirmed the decision of the Superior Court of Quebec.
